Help Reading a Dispensa

Hi Abram,

I understand dating back to the times of the Roman Empire women could get married as young as 14. Also, you could be in your 20's and still need the permission of your parents to get married. In the case of Pioquinto, his parents were already dead. Regarding your other post, maybe you should not try to index the Guadalajara Dispensas until you have more experience reading them, otherwise you may write down incorrect or incomplete information. You just have to keep reading until you become familiarized with the writing, spelling variations and abbreviations used.

This is what I can read in the dispensa:
Theocaltiche, January 9, 1913

Groom: Anttº Ximenes (Antonio Jiménez), legitimate son of Diego Ximenes & Cathalina de Arellanos, Españoles, neighbours of the Partido de Nochistlan.

Bride: Juana de Arze (Arce), legitimate dauther of Juan de Arze & Petrona Martines de Alarcon, deceased (only her),neighbours of this town (They also call her Petra, and these names may or not be an abbreviation of Petronila)

Lorenzo de Rubalcava, great grandfather of the groom, was the brother of Josepha Bapta (Baptista) de Rublacava, great grandmother of the bride,

Lorenzo was the father of Agueda de Rubalcava (grandmother of the groom), and Cathalina was the mother of the groom (they don't spell out the relationship between Agueda and Cathalina)

Josepha Bapta de Rublacava was the great grandmother of the bride; Joseph Martinez de Alarcon was the grandfather of the bride, and he was the father of Petra, mother of the bride (they don't spell out the relationship between Josepha and Joseph).
