You write:
My grandfather was born 1930 in Laredo, Texas where I'm not sure the baptism
records are as in-depth as I've found them to be in Mexico. What's also
interesting is that my grandfather was born when Nicanor Pineda was age 46
and as far as we know, my grandfather was his first child.

If your grandfather was baptized in a catholic church, the records are
definitely as detailed as those in Mexico. The listing of great-grandparents
was a requirement under some sort of council and was mandated by the Vatican
beginning in 1810 or so.

Do you know what parrish in Laredo your grandfather was baptized in?

Chris:

Another tidbit in your puzzle... Perhaps a coincidence but the dates and age seem to match. Could your g-g-g-grandmother been married twice?

Parents of Nicanor Pineda

Thanks again Arturo.

I was able to confirm that San Agustin church in Laredo does have my grandfather's baptism certificate, but I don't think it has the grandparents listed. At least according to the person I spoke to on the phone who was looking at it when she talked to me. I requested a copy of the certificate, so I can see for myself in a week or so.

I did learn one other piece of information from my grandfather, Jesus Maria Pineda. He remembers hearing that his father Nicanor had a half-brother, named Jesus Maria, for whom he was named. If my grandfather remembers correctly, he lived in Torreon where he worked for the government. I don't know if this Jesus Maria shared the same mother (Pioquinta) or father (Pedro Pineda/o) as Nicanor, although my grandfather thinks they shared the same father.
