I would like everyone to at least give their first names when they reply
to an email message.

Some of us don't reply all that often and it is hard to tell exactly who
you are. You might just say something that might make us interested in
your genealogy. How would we go to the files area and either search for
your "members genealogies" folder or to the gedcom section and search
for your gedcom???? So why not give your first and last name until you
have posted about 3 or 4 times within a 2-3 month period then after that
you can optionally drop the last name if you think everyone will
remember who you are.

heck I might not even remember you if you give your first and last name
if you post very rarely.

. . .what do you think shall we close the list to new membership until
we all get to know each other???

. . . .just kidding.

I hope I haven't added to the confusion. I've been using my Outlook Express
e-mail account, it appears to be faster. My posting messages appear as from
"papagaia2." My Yahoo e-mail account has Patricia Corbera. I try and sign
my messages using Pat or Pat Silva Corbera.

Arturo, that's great! I had never noticed you could do that and often wonder where the person e-mailing lives.. makes it more personal when we know a little history abt Nuestros Members.

list it would be best if we at a minimum end our messages with our
names. In past some have included the location of their residence but I
think at least a name would be appropriate.

No haciendo una regla pero gustaría decir que con toda la gente a la
lista sería lo mejor si a mínimo terminamos nuestros mensajes con
nuestros nombres. En pasado unos han incluido la posición de su
residencia pero pienso que al menos un nombre sería apropiado.

I tend to agree. The e-mail addresses that accompany the messages don't
always correspond to the member's real name--which most of us have already
shared at one time or another with the grupo anyway.

If you are a member receiving your email via the digest version please
change the Subject so our search engine will be able to properly
function. Do not click on "reply" and leave the subject line intact as
in "Re: [Nuestros Ranchos] Research Digest, Vol 30, Issue 8"

That subject line gives the reader very little evidence about the
content of the email. It is important to properly change the subject
line to accurately reflect the content of your message.
