Domingo de Santiago and Petronila Perez (aka Petra de los Reyes) were the parents of Getrudis de Santiago who married Joseph de Esparza (widower of Nicolasa Ramirez; and son of Juan de Esparza and Bernarda de Siordia) 20 Jul 1729 in Aguascalientes, according to the matrimonial investigation.

Getrudis was born about 1711 (age 18 at marriage), so Domingo de Santiago may have been born about 1690, or earlier.

Does anyone know who Domingo's parents might be?

Domingo de Santiago

Hi George,

I noticed on the other thread a question about Juan de Santiago y Escobar and I descend from a Gertrudis de Santiago y Escobar and it made me wonder whether this Domingo de Santiago might be related to the Santiago y Escobar.

Santiago

It seems like everyone descends from Juan de Santiago y Escobar if they're from Aguascalientes. He had like 45 children. I have a Santiago y Escobar that's listed as an hija de padres no conocidos that I suspect is probably an illegitimate child of his although, most of his children appear legitimate.

About Domingo de Santiago and Petronila Perez, i would like to know who their parents are too. They're the parents of my 9th great grandmother, María de Jesús Santiago who married my 9th great grandfather Miguel González. I think all of them are mestizos but both sides of this family are very difficult to research. i think they fall in the period where there's no IM's. The only thing I know about Domingo de Santiago and Petronila Perez is that they are mentioned in this marriage of Miguel González and María de Jesús Santiago:

Santiagos of Aguascalientes and Asientos

Hi Paige

Looks like no one has solved it yet.

I just noticed that in Georges original post, he mentioned that Domingo's wife Petronila is aka Petra de los Angeles.

The maternal grandparents of Dna Rosalia Villalpando (b. 1732, married to Dn Diego Xavier de el Aguila) are identified in the marriage of her parents (1730 Manuel Villalpando and Maria Dolores de Santiago) as Juan de Santiago and Gertrudis DE LOS ANGELES.

Maybe there is a connection to Domingo and Petronila?

Anyway, I still have not established that the Juan I have is identical to Juan de Santiago Escobar...

Regards
Denise

EDIT: my mistake: it's Petra de los REYES not angeles...please ignore the above!
