The clergyman Lorenzo Carrillo Dávila is stating the names of his parents and uncle, and says that the latter founded a capellanía and named him (Lorenzo) as first capellán (chaplain). He wants to be ordained as sub-deacon in order to take over the Capellanía.
As I understand it, a capellanía was an inheritance that somehow could produce money (like a shop, a place that could be rented, etc.) and such money would be used to pay masses on behalf of the founder, and to sustain the capellán, usually a clergyman related to the founder. It was a trust and the capellán was the beneficiary.
