Anybody in the group a Sánchez de Aldana? I saw this message and got
interested in this Colonial Genealogist publication. Has anyone read a
copy of it? Well its a long shot but thought I'd throw it out there for
consideration.

As always if you just happen to be a Sánchez de Aldana and one of your
lines just happens to be in the below listed publication make sure to
verify the information for yourself.

Don't take anything for granted.

Antonio Villaseñor descends from Conquistador Leonel Cervantes

The descent of Leonel Cervantes does not come from the first generation that you listed. Here are the first three generations that you listed:

I.- Don Miguel Sánchez de Aldana.

If you take a closer look, you will see that in the second generation you have María Manuela de Villaseñor, hija de don Antonio de Villaseñor, y de doña Luisa de Viviescas. the line of descent from Leonel Cervantes comes from Antonio de Villaseñor.

You definitely descend from Leonel Cervantes through your IV line. These lines hook up with much of my research.

I have records for the Sanchez de Aldana's in Chilchota Michoacan and Zapotlan El Grande and  Tamazula  Jalisco. They are not direct ancestors but married lines related by marriage to mine (Gutierrez de Raya and Vejar and Villasenor).  I have been trying to connect the Michoacan Sanchez de Aldana with the Jalisco Sanchez de Aldana.  I have been trying to find information on the Sanchez de la Mejorada line also, the records say they came from Tuxpan Jalisco in abt 1680 and lived in Atoyac, Zapotlan El Grande and Tamazula also.  It's so hard to find double surnames on the IGI, any suggestions? Leonel de Cervantes

Estimado Daniel,
He remotado bastante lineas a dicho caballero.

a) Severiano
