Please do not post announcements on the research list

Dear members:

Please make sure that your messages are posted to the appropriate list.

We have made three lists on the site in order to allow members to "opt out" of some discussions. The only way that we can honor their preferences is for topics to be posted in the appropriate list.

The research list is ONLY for questions or discussion related to specific genealogical research.

The general list can include topics tangentially related to genealogical research including ethnography, history, traditions, software related questions, etc.

All event announcements should be posted on the announcement list.

Thank you for your cooperation.
