I have added a section on specialty bookstores, including Borderlands, Libros Latinos and Ricardo Rodriguez's online catalogue in the links section and have made the links section bilingual (at least the category headings now dynamically get translated).

What was your opinion on this book as far as Genealogical information?
To me this books richness was about the history of Jalostotitlan. In my opinion if your looking for family tree's ONLY or Genealogical information then I would not recommend this book. Below is an Index of the Chapter covered in this book.

Hi Maria:
My personal opinion as far as Genealogical information is concerned is:
The book contains very little information as far as family trees are
concerned, but a lot of interesting information about the movements of the
founding families of "Los Altos" (page 117) Listed under "Troncos
Familiares Pricipales" are the following: 1-Lomelí, Gallo, Gonzalez.
2-Padilla, Reynoso. 3-Issasi, Serrano, SanRoman, Ortiz de Parada,
Hermosillo. 4- Perez, Franco, Padilla, Jimenez, Reynoso,Gonzalez. 5-Barba,
Gonzalez. Each Group (1through 5) in a different area of Los Altos.
I personnaly found the book valuable because it mentions the founding
families of Jalostotitlán (pgs 144-145) : Juan Gonzalez de Hermosillo (B
1591) and his wife, Ana Gonzalez Florida. I have been able to trace my
direct descendency on my paternal grandfather's side all the way back to
them through LDS church records from Jalostotitlán. (11 generations plus 2
more beyond them) Of course, they were just one one of the founding
families.
I would recommend this book to anybody that either has roots from Jalos, or
is interested in learning about the history of this area of Los Altos de
Jalisco.
I have no idea what Volume II of this book covers, but I would like to find
out...Do you have it?

No, unfortunately I do not have volume II of the book Jalostotitlan A Traves De Los Siglos.
My parent's just came back from Jalisco, Mexico and my father lives in a little town next to Jalostotitlan called Teocaltitan. My father knows I have a great interest in the history and genealogy of Los Altos de Jalisco. So when I asked him if he saw any new books, he said that there was a new book coming out about Teocaltitán de Guadalupe, Jalisco.
Yes, I definately agree with you about recommending this book to anyone who has roots in this area.
