Hello Pat,

I am looking for a DNA service to use to help me with my genealogy
research.
Would you mind telling me which service you used?
I am now at the stage of my research where my brother is going to do the
Y- DNA test so any information you can email to me would be greatly
appreciated.

Sincerely,
Del

Pat Silva Corbera, re: DNA

Hi Del,

We have used FamilyTreeDna (ftdna.com) for all the testing that has taken place for myself, my husband, my paternal nephew and my maternal grandfather's grand nephew.

I'm pleased with their service and their service reps are very accommodating.
Also the run pricing promotions.

Pat Silva Corbera
p.s. forgot to mention my maternal uncle's son's YDNA and his mtDNA was also tested.

Pat Silva Corbera, re: DNA

I also used Family Tree DNA via Gary Felix's wonderful website. I'll post my results in another thread.

DNA

I am a member of FTDNA.com. I have uploaded my gedcom file and done family
finder. I participate with Los Altos. BUT I am a woman. My known Los
Altos family is all on my maternal grandfather's line.

Will that show up at all here? Or do I need to get my uncle or a cousin to
do this test too?

Thanks,
Stacy

Hi Stacy,

The Family Finder will capture info from all your ancestors so your
maternal grandfather should be represented in your results. If you look for
distant relatives on the Family finder page, I'm sure you'll see some links
to other Altenos.

Saludos,
Juan
