I know that Petra Roldana was mother of Cayetano Marin de Herrera through a
marriage dispensation from Luz Montejano's book. I also know that Juan Pedro
Herrera and Cayetano Valerio were brothers because their baptism records
show the same parents, see IGI 12 Sep 1738 and 1 Mar 1736 baptisms or in my
Tlaltenango families database.

I have down the parents of Prudencio Marin Herrera were Luis Marin Herrera
and Maria Soza Serrano. I have a strong feeling that Luis Marin Herrera and
Luis Florencio Herrera are related...if the parents of Luis Florencio was
Cayetano Marin Herrera...it could mean that my Prudencio and Cayetano were half
siblings (with different mothers). I am thinking (if I am right) that he was
living in his own household...and about to get married to his first wife.

For a woman, it is beginning to sound like a death sentence to marry back in
those days.

Again, thanks for keeping me in mind and sharing...I soo appreciate it.
After growing up with no family, it is very cool to know that I had/have tons of
family.

In the census that you are extracting from that time frame, does it record
the "ethnicity", as in Espanol, mulatto, mestizo, etc??

The census does not record the castes of the people it lists. It does seperate out the "barrios y pueblos" de naturales or indios from the rest, however. So basically, it begins with a listing of the espanoles, mulatos, mestizos in the town of Tlaltenango itself, then goes through each of the non-indio ranchos and then begins with the barrios de indios in the town of Tlaltenango and finally goes into each of the pueblos de indios that were part of the jurisdiccion, such as Tocatic, Cicacalco, Teocaltiche, etc.

In the non-indio part of the census, there are a number of people described as "esclavos" which I am presuming were mulatos or negros, however for the remainder there is no way to tell whether they were espanoles, mestizos, lobos, etc. There are also no ages, but there is some letter coding system that I have yet to figure out. However, I am guessing that it shows those who are adults vs. those who aren't as some people are not included in the "count".
