Great Meeting Everyone in Salt Lake City

I just wanted to express to the whole group what a great time I had in Salt Lake City this past weekend. More than the conference itself, getting to meet Mickey, Josie, Lydia and Ulla and getting to see Kitty and Rich again made the trip a great experience.

I think we all learned quite a bit, and while I didn't get too much research in, I did find a couple of treasures that I will share shortly with the group. We also got to do a lot of networking and promotion of our group. I am hoping we get a few more serious genealogists joining in the next couple of weeks. I met a few people with roots in our area who already have very large genealogies compiled that they are willing to share.

Joseph, I am sorry, but none of us could get the equipment necessary to record George Ryskamp. He actually asked why we were not recording him so he was more than amenable to it. I am sure there will be other opportunities to record his presentation. He and Peggy send you greetings.

Great Meeting Everyone in Salt Lake City

    To all members

I would also like to comment on the trip to Salt Lake City. Even though it
was a small group we had a great time just meeting other members in person.

Rich and Kitty did a lot of research for other people! You people really
need to thank them. They are great!! Very helpful and giving! For me it was
like old home week since I had them over my house. Kitty has given me so
many tips on doing research - like getting ready for Salt Lake City. It really
made things easier. Really enjoyed being with everyone

One of the main things I wanted to do was find my Cayetano Ballestero in
Guadalajara.....did not do so....he is still waiting for me.

To the members that do not know Arturo, well he is just a walking, talking
historian! Not only that, he is very willing to share. AND to top that he
is just about the nicest kid you could meet....

Again, enjoyed seeing old friends like Becky and Lydia from California, the
Ryskamps and Jonathan from Utah, and meeting new ones.

Joseph, wish you could have been there. You have a very good group and a
    very sharing group. I

    Mickey .

Yes I wish I could have been there as well. in 2007 the plan is for me
to go to Turkey so Maybe I'll need to wait until 2008 to make a trip to
    SLC. Can't wait!

thanks Mickey. . .and yes. thanks much to Kitty and Rich. . .they were
looking a couple of records up for me. And others in the group are very
giving. Arturo needs to win the Nuestros Ranchos award for the great
work he's done on the website and helping others with their genealogy.

    thanks everyone,

    joseph

Wishing I could have been there

    Dear Arturo and Ranchos members,

I wish I could have been there. I enjoyed reading about your gathering and hopefully I can make it another time. In the mean time I look forward to hearing about your findings, lectures etc.

    Atentamente;
    Alicia de San Jose, Calif
