I have with the help of Arturo up-loaded my husband's genealogy
GEDCOM file to my Genealogy folder. Looking forward to linking with
other Ranchos Members.
Last evening after sharing what I thought was a link with Maria
Cortez, she answered my e-mail with "It's a Match." After only 3 days of
being a Ranchos member, a new found "cousin." "How Sweet It Is! "
Hoping that, that match will also include Alicia's ancestry and many others.

Rich's GEDCOM is now on-line
Thanks Arturo for your help. Rich's GEDCOM file is now set up on the Nuestros Ranchos website. It was really quite painless. A few hic-cups, but I eventually clicked on the right buttons.
I noticed that my notation of DOC behind the dates also showed up in the database. This means we have the document in our files and if anyone needs a copy of a document that we have, let us know and we will scan it and send it on. If there is a notation of igi, it means we will look for that document on our next trip to the Family History Library in SLC, UT.
A few words about our fantastic 6 week vacation in our RV. We met many 'cyber' cousins as well as 3 Ranchos members. Arturo Ramos and Natalie Coleman met us at the Quaker Meeting House in Lincoln, Loudoun County, VA. Behind the Quaker Meeting House is the Goose Creek Cemetery where my ancestors were buried. What a beautiful setting to meet these Ranchos members. After a few days in the Richmond area, we were off to meet up with Joseph in North Carolina. Actually our third time meeting him since Ranchos was formed. Always great seeing Joseph. After a week or so in the GA area, we were off to the Houston area to meet Mickey Garica. Alicia, I really hope your Oct. trip to SLC is the same time as Mickey and Josie's trip in October. You must connect up with each other. Between the two of you, you both must have every book known. Mickey has a very extensive library in her home on Mexican History. Maybe Nuestros Ranchos could get a Resource section to our website listing members resource books.
Did I tell you, Mickey is also a quilter. Rich didn't stand a chance in the quilt shop. We had such a wonderful time in the Houston area.
Beside meeting Ranchos members, we scoured two cemeteries in PA and found my immigrant ancestor from Ireland and a whole new branch of the family. We also spent some time at the Bentley Historical Library in Ann Arbor, MI and found about 50 letters written to my ggggrandfather between 1830-1880. We already had 27 letters written to this grandfather from his son during the Civil War. We found those letter about 7 years ago and since we had time and were so close, I just wanted to go to the library and 'feel' the letters. I was sure surprised about the rest of the collection. In Champion, Indiana we found a will from my Hardman line which has broken down a brick wall we have had on that line for many years.
All in all a wonderful trip meeting new cousins and old cousins. We traveled 8,800 miles, averaged 18 mpg and gained a few pounds.
We hope to meet up with the Ranchos Group in Salt Lake City in October.

Sorry I missed you on your trip.....HOWEVER.....I was there in spirit!!!
Especially at the Quilt Stores with Mickey!!! She and I have done that too
and I know you had fun!!! :-) I quilt also.....next time I will take you to
some quilt shops in the San Antonio and hillcountry area, ok? And.....to
some great cemeteries!
What names are you researching in Ireland? My husband is Irish and has been
to Ireland and Canada several times on genealogy research. Among others he
is researching Recroft (or Roycroft or Raycroft), Spence and others I cannot
recall at the moment....when I get home to San Antonio next week I can check
his list.
You did great getting 18 mpg on your travels.....our motorhome gets only 6
or 7 mpg......
I am looking forward to meeting you and the others in person in October in
SLC!
